A Helping Hand For Parents When They Need it Most
Because Childhood Can’t Wait
Welcome to Home-Start Teignbridge
Home-Start Teignbridge offers a unique service, recruiting and training volunteers – who are usually parents themselves – to visit families at home who have a young child(ren) to offer informal, friendly and confidential support
During lockdown, our volunteers found creative ways to continue supporting families via telephone and Zoom. Volunteers have also been able to meet families outside when restrictions allow.

Telephone Befriender Course
Parental loneliness has dramatically increased during the pandemic as parents have been cut off from friends and family. A weekly phone call could make a world of difference to parents. 97% of the families we supported last year said they felt less isolated after receiving support from one of our volunteers.
Can you spare 30 minutes a week to help? If so sign up to our telephone befriender course taking place during June/July and running for 5 consecutive weeks.
